Pruning new fruit tree planting?

skyfarms

I just received a few bare root fruit trees, all of which are 4-5 feet tall and all but one of them are whips. For some reason my bosc pear wasn't pruned to a whip. The company has stated that all the trees have arrived pre-pruned and that no further pruning needs to be done the first year.

I'm wondering if I should prune the bosc pear to a whip and cut the apples and pears back to around 2ft? I have read that this is beneficial. What are the pros and cons to each option (pruning further or leaving the trees as is)?

Thanks for the advice!
