The remedy for a thyroglossal duct cyst or any other cyst that is causing symptoms or is unpleasant cosmetically is not herbal.
Some cysts can be drained (and diagnosed as benign or malignant) using a small caliber needle and syringe. The problem is that they often refill with fluid or other material and return to their original size. If needed, surgery can remove the cyst permanently.
So absolutely nothing can be done to help prevent and/or treat cysts other than surgery? Does anyone have knowledge as to what causes these things? Diet? Genes? Enviroment? My nephew had no cysts ever but when he entered 7th grade he discovered his first cyst in one of his earlobes. Now he has them re-surface after dormancy in his earlobes (both), legs, underarms, and neck. Can cysts become cancer?
As you can see from this site, thyroglossal duct cysts are a type of congenital malformation. The cause is abnormal development of tissue present at birth. There are no drugs, herbal or otherwise, that will prevent or treat this problem. If it's symptomatic, a surgical procedure should take care of it.
Other cysts have a variety of causes. For example, epidermal inclusion cysts ("sebaceous cysts") are common in the skin around the ears, neck, back etc. They can also be due to embryonic tissue abnormally present in the skin, or secondary to infection or trauma. They are only rarely associated with skin cancer. More on this kind of cyst.
