Soil mites?

I was just shifting around the top soil of my mini umbrella plant
and all these tiny orange bugs which look exactly like mites were crawling allaround in there....
There were now webs or mites on the plant itself but tones of these little mites in the upset soil
What are these?
And how can I get rid of them?
I also have fungus gnats at the moment and I am going to buy the mosquito dunks as soon as I find some so would that kill them off?
Thanks

Well instead of making a whole new post for this I decided to just add it in here
I was just removing these rocks from my majesty palm to help with the fungus gnats and to let the soil breath when 2 centimeters quickly unfurled and crawled and burrowed away.... Not to happy.
I heard reporting can help but I just can't do that right now as Its a blizzard out side and the weather won't be good enough u ntill April..
Is there any way I can get rid of these things?
I know there beneficial and all but I don't want those crawling in the same where I sleep and If my Mom found out I would have to chuck the plant. WHich I don't want to do.
Thanks again
