Can you give a more complete description of the ingredients in the espoma? It makes little sense to apply elemental sulfur every 6 wks. Sooner or later on that schedule you'll end up putting on too much.

On the other hand applying iron sulfate every six wks makes more sense.

I don't know the chemical composition of Espoma Soil Acidifier. However, I am using agricultural sulfur to lower soil pH around our blueberry shrubs, so this might apply. Sulfur must be consumed and metabolized by bacteria before it can have any effect on pH. The bacteria need moisture, and they live in the soil, not on the surface, so it helps to mix the sulfur with the topsoil, to a depth of 1/2 inch or so. I have had success with pulling back the mulch, putting the sulfur down on the surface, and replacing the mulch. Our shrubs are mulched with shredded tree leaves, to a depth of 6 inches or so. In your situation, I would not add any additional sulfur until I had measured soil pH. It should be in the range 4.5 to 6.5, for blueberries.

That just sounds excessive to me. As noted, it takes months for soil sufur to really become usable. I sometimes use iron, but only when or if the leaves begin to discolor. The only thing I use somewhat regularly is ammonium sulfate, which is a nitrogen source and an acidifier. I actually use this for a lot of crops. Regardless, I don't fertilze past mid summer as it encourages new growth, which can be damaged over a hard winter.

My mistake the directions call for application every 60 days...having said thats 42 days vs 60....I'll wait a few more weeks.
