Mr. Gulick uses agar-agar in a rice-cooker, he says it captures intricate details best, sets up quickly, , ideal for use on a vertical surface. Has been used on faces for mask molds. He is shown doing two examples, vertical, and a horizontal item, intricate carved plaster garlands.

In this format (magazine) there is no way to hold your hand through all of the details and give all the info necessary, but it can enrich and inspire someone who already has a toe in the scary deep pool of making your own molds.

great, thanks running dog, that seems to be the same article, word-for-word. But it doesn't have any of the many photos. I wonder that they couldn't add just one or two... whatta I know.
Love to see some of your stuff, mine's still all (safely) still in my head - but involves bricks, stones, river gravel, arches, and animal shapes. Oh, yes, and seating.
