So, how did you like the book?

Loads of information. I'd say if you're a beginner, it'll give you enough confidence to go out and go for your first project. It also has advice for intermediate and advenced as well.

It makes for good reading, and a good reference. I am constantlty forgetting stuff, and it's easier sometimes to just go to the book than to try to remember what forum topic you read that on ;-)

That's why they have bookmarks and favorites on your computer so you can save those pages. LOL! Then again, I copy and save info from pages or forum threads in a file on my desktop. Sometimes those great web sites disappear so I'm glad I copy and save stuff.
This is a very easy craft I don't know why people seem intimidated by it. I think the only intimidating thing is the weight of the bag of portland cement. Billie

My first craft was a small 1 gsllon planter. It was atrocious when I was done and took me 3 weeks to build enough courage to go for it. For those 3 weeks, I read and read and read.

It's amazing how easy it is. Anywho, the book is a huge compilation if information. It has some good ideas which I will eventually want to do, some I don't think I will ever get to (not interested at the time), but that might change some day.

Also what I found is some interesting information on the origins of portland cement, what peat moss is, how Hypertufa came to be, so on and so forth... good stuff :-)

You have a point about bookmarks. I have so many on soooo many interests I have, that I really hesitate before bookmarking something. One thing about some of the content on most posts, the photobucket keeps getting purged, so they consistenly remove pics. For this forum, I think pics are a MUST. That's one thing you can count on with books, although in this particular case, I would have liked more of them.

Amaretto, I've never had my photos purged from Photobucket. If you go to the "Gallery" side of this forum you'll see photos that I posted a couple years ago. The reason you can't see someones photo is if they remove the pic from Photobucket or any photo hosting network. Because of the privacy policy here,section L, some of the old posters are hesitant to post their pics or text here. This web site can use your photos, etc that you post because of the privacy agreement that you accept when you log on to this site. Billie

The admins where I work block photobucket and others that we use here, so, when at work, I get all fired up about remembering to check out an older post when I get home.

Then, when I get home, I find that the photos have been removed !@#$

Amaretto, Forgot to add (and you probably know this) that sometimes people just delete pics for more room in they alblum or their computer crashes. Billie

It took me about 10 seconds, it might take you maybe 5 minutes (tops). It's 112 pages

Well, my heart sank. I've been working on a book for the past two winters, on and off.

I'll have to buy the book and see if I should continue!
