I'll tell ya:Kids today have a lot more fun in school than I did.For example,the Colorado School of Mining has concrete canoe races,with the students determining the best materials,forms,glues,etc to create their boat.I've seen a number of sites dedicated to this rather unusual sport;one of them is canoe.csmASCE.org.

I've seen info about Kevlar mesh being used,and discussions that the mixes that these kids arrive at may see a practical application for a weather station on Mars!Worth a look or two......
