I wanna see that! You know the suet balls with the seed stuck to the outside? Well you just made one with tufa. Don't seal the pot till all the seed is gone, just for the health of the birds, but 15 day old tufa won't hurt them, I don't think. The shells will be so delicate, I don't think sealing will hold them in unless you bring it inside.

Has any one tried using the feathery grass seeds from pampas and similar grasses for surface texturing on a planter? I rather hope they'd give an antiquey travertine marble type look. ( But dont want to make a monster bird killer).
