Broken containers can be used - If possible just plant some hens and chicks in the broken part.

Have you used the cooking spray "PAM" on you mold as a release agent. Ligthly spay the inside or outside of the plastic container that you are using as a mold. The Hypertufa will come out very easy.

harmonious1 --- Actually both human & horse hair have been used for centuries by masons & plasterers as a reinforcement in cement and gypsum based mixes. So yes, you can indeed employ them. As for the problem of demolding, it sounds like either your mix formulation was weak to begin with...or you may have jumped the gun as far as its state of cure.

Fibermesh 150 goes for about $8 at a local ready mix that sells supplies over the counter. Similar "stealth size" nylon fibers can go for about $5 at one of my online suppliers.

1 pound is enough for 1 yard of concrete. There isn't that much to buy, And your matrix is improved.
