I can't speak for the forum, but I am very interested in papercrete. Seems a little more plastic (moldable?)and that it might be taken further in some ways. Also seems a varient not a separate topic. To me.

I like it because it seems more claylike.When I made my head I did not use a mold and just shaped it by hand.Here are 2 pics.

I've recently just started reading about hypertufa, etc. and have been wanting to try a project. Finally bought a big bag of portland cement and peat moss. Have been trying to decide on what to make. I like your papercrete head and think I might can do one. Can you tell me what your ratio's and what you used in your mix? Also, by papercrete do you use shredded paper?

I used equal amounts of finely shredded paper (it looked like dryer lint) and portland and I mixed them together dry.Then added water while mixing until it got the consistency of clay with no slump.It was semi dry within hours.The pictures were taken today, 24 hours later.

I am thinking of making a mound of heads to sit on.The top of the mound will be flat.I have more heads and masks and am still making more so it should be interesting (hopefully).Anyways I used paper because it is smoother and also it is what I have available.I also made some out of sand and crete and even some with sawdust :).I will post more pics but have to bring them in to use my webcam because I have no camera yet. Speaking of camera's how do you post pics?

If you do a search on the "hypertufa" forum there are quite a few posts about "papercrete".

Would it be feasible to use papercrete to make boulders or large rocks? Would it disintegrate due to moisture wicking into the 'crete where the rock was in contact with the ground?
