I'm currently considering some different scenarios for creating a border between my turf and planting beds (100 l.f.) One option is natural stone blocks laid on the surface of the ground. This looks like the $$$$ option at the moment. I also really like the look of some of the terra cotta rope edge border tiles. Also $$$$. That got me thinking about making ht border tiles, sinking part into the ground for stablility. Does anyone know if the subsequent winter freezing, thawing cycle will cause the pieces to break down? I know real terra cotta would but wonder if thicker ht pieces might not. Any wisdom to share? I'm going for some height because the cursed squirrels love tossing mulch on the grass to kill it.
