Another strawberry question

I started a new thread rather than hijacking someone else's (like I did with the apples LOL). I bought an Alpine strawberry plant the other day at a church plant sale, I was going to plant it in a small raised bed I have outside my south-facing bay window. I got home and found a wild strawberry growing along the foundation (facing east) just around the corner! It's under our sliding glass door so will have to be moved before we build a deck.

Should I plant these 2 together? Since wild one is runner type and Alpine is clumping? Should I dispose of the wild one so I don't get cross-pollination if I want to save seeds from the Alpine? Or will they peacefully coexist if I just propagate the Alpine by division instead of by seed?

I don't mind disposing of the wild strawberry - I just found a whole field of them while scouting out apple trees in the woods! Only problem is irrigation and protecting the berries from wildlife, since it is about 1/2 mile from our house, so I'd like a bed a little closer.

Oh, and I hope it's not a problem - we had tomatoes in that area 2 years ago - is that too soon, don't want the Alpine to get Wilt. TIA
