Mary, You can make fake rocks. You can use a mortar mix or buy white portland cement and white sand and experiment adding dye to the white mix. The mortar mix you can get a brown-grey-black range of stones. If you need a mold depends on the type of stone you want to replicate. If it's a river rock, just place some on a piece of plastic and pat out the shape you want and round all the edges. If it's a regional stone, make a silicone mold of a local rock in various sizes. Make sure you oil the original stone because the silicone will stick to it and you won't be able to remove.
They sell the mortar mix and some dyes at hardware or home improvement stores. The white sand and portland cement would have to come from a masonary supply house. You could also just use the mortar mix which is cheaper and paint it with diluted exterior latex paint. It's more of a paint wash, very thin. Experiment and have fun. Billie
p.s. I have a brick wall in my kitchen. I didn't like the fake brick wall tiles that they sold so my husband took real used brick and sliced it in quarters with a tile cutting saw.

Mary, I'm a blockhead. If you use old (used) brick like we did you only get two sides. A friend took the center portion of the brick that we didn't use. We cut new brick in quarters for a different project. Billie
