My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
Fantastic stuff! You've definately got the trough thing figured out - making, planting & displaying. Very talented! How many troughs do you have? If you ever thought you had too many I'd be happy to take a couple off your hands. ;)
Wow many times over. I especially like the ones with the use of shale in the plantings, and also the larger box planters that appear to be bordering an area, the ones with the round holes in the sides. How big a space are they all in? Do you have a favorite planter soil mix that you find to work well? Dena
For GardenChicken: How many ? No idea, maybe 2 dozens and I have few more ready to plant
Dena6355: These troughts are approx 24X18X18 with 1 1/2 inch wall. Plantation mix is approx 70% pool filter sand, 5% perlite, 5% vermiculite and 20% leaf compost
For Kobold, I have my own hypertuffa mix, with colored pigments. You'll find how to make it under the link below
Clovis I tried many mixes, different for stepping stones, different for lanterns, different for troughs, etc.... I have to get my son to translate your recipe, I understood only the Portland and the peat moss. Your Koto-ji lantern is very nice, I started to make one, only the roof is missing. I don't like to make molds, have to figure out something else. Maybe sand-casting. Thanks! Andrea
