I can't quite tell what the bricks will be supported by. When they sit on the top edge of the round concrete base what will that be like? Will the edge support the whole brick or will each one hang over? Does this brick edge wind up practically on the ground or up a lot higher??

ltd123, in response to your post. Imagine a round circle of cement about 2' high,6" thick, hollow with a bottom. I want to just cap it with homemade bricks that will hang over about 2" over the vertical sides of the base.I would like to make about four per quarter of the circle and mortar them in place.So ya... the brick edge would be about two feet in the air and I was hoping for a good recipe that would make them strong enough to sit on. Right now I'm thinking a typical mix with agrigate(sp) and just smoothing the top. The form I have will support pretty well the whole brick but what hangs over.Hope that helps:)
