Attempting large Taro leaf...

I have only cast a couple leaves so far. The Castor Bean was 17 inches across and I didn't use and armature. What is the best thing to use to support the weight of a larger leaf?

Some people use drywall tape, but it drives me crazy for something with undulating curves.

You might try fibers and see how that works. A bag costs about $10, which is enough for a cubic yard of mixed concrete, so you wouldn't need much more than a good pinch. Be sure to fluff them up as much as you can. Keep the bag dry or move the contents to a Ziplock.

Ask for alkaline-resistant fibers, although why concrete people would use NON-alkaline-resistant fibers I'm not sure...

About 20 inches long, 10 inches at the widest point.

I have done a 3' Banana Leaf with no help in the mix but I am afraid to move it from my basement to the pond! Will have to get brave. I have done rhubarb leaves about that big with no problem just using crete mix. I do tend to make it kind of thick especially at the viens if they are big.
