Messed up already!

Tagged along with DH today to my local Home Depot and decided to pickup the supplies to make my first ever hypertufa project. Rocks like Wendy has to line my flower beds.

I had jotted down the recipe of 1 part each: sand, perlite or vermiculite, peat, and cement and sent DH to the plumbing section (we have a minor bathroom leak) as I set about finding my ingredients. Found the sand (playground sand), found the peat (big old bale of stuff), found the cement (Quickcrete) and finally located some perlite. Found DH who had wondered down to the power tool asile and requested he push the cart to the register. Very heavy cart at this point.

Thank goodness I had housework to finish and the yard to mow when I got home so I didn't get a chance to jump right into my rock making project.

I've just finished looking at the FAQ's for hypertufa and guess what I'm doing tomorrow? Returning everything I bought at Home Depot today and heading over to Lowes to try and find Quikrete sand mix in the smaller 10# bags and follow the directions for Recipe #5 given in the FAQ. Oh and I need to pick up some rubber gloves and some dust masks and a tub to mix everything in.

Guess that will learn me to do some research before I rush out and spend money, lol :-).
