the wall is totally dry and the brick i will do will be too.
they will dry a very long time. I plan to make brick about 1" thick since it is simply decorative and the wall ain't supporting anything.

I will use an evergreen mold (flexible) to produce about 25 brick in one shot. wait for it to be ready to unmold and let it dry for 6 months.

when all the brick will be ready i'll do the job.

thanks for the advice tho. some small detail can make all the difference sometimes.

I am also new to hypertufa. I've been a longtime lurker with no experience. But I would not recommend using hypertufa for the interior project you have in mind - if for no other reason because of the residual dust and the difficulty cleaning the brick in the future.

However, you could use plaster of paris to accomplish the same effect at an even lower cost and in half the time. I made hundreds of bricks using POP in a flexible mold. We covered about 270 sq ft of family room wall space. When we got home from work we'd mix the POP and pour into the mold and then unmold after dinner. Once the bricks were on the wall we primed and painted them and then grouted. Ten years later when we sold the house they still looked great.

I know that POP could do the job... but its not like brick.
I look into same color and look as brick. i wish to have a very particular color that i can only obtain with brick style. I can see difference between real brick and fake one.

but the rock sample I have on my table is almost as what I wish to obtain... now the only thing left for me is to make the mix stronger and make the mold out of evergreen.

tomorrow I am going to distribution center for art product to get the evergreen to make the mold.

now of course speed is neat but I am willing to find the right mix to make brick. thanks for the comment I appreciate.
