It looks like the gas logs are open to the room. While that is a lovely look, our similarly installed gas logs caused a huge problem. Soot! As the hot air moved upward, so too did soot deposit on ceilings in the stairwell, upstairs hall, even into the adjacent kitchen. It was a lot of work to clean, seal, repaint. We never knew it was happening. Breathe it too?
