Help with drowned plants

Hey everyone, first post from a complete and total novice in the gardening department. I recently planted several fruit trees (apple, plum, peach, & pear) and near record rainfall for several weeks drowned them. My soil is gumbo (a dark black sticky dense soil), the gumbo has very poor drainage. I dug a hole for each plant about 2 to 3 times the size of the root ball and planted with a mixture of potting soils (I kept the pre-existing surface level so the plants weren't planted too deep). The plants were all doing well until the rains. There was standing water on and around the plants for over a week. The trees lost all their leaves and don't seem to be growing new ones. They all still have plyable green branches with the exception of one which now has dry breakable branches. My question is, is there anything I can or should do to try to rescue them? Should I prune them back or something? And what about the dry dead one.....should I treat it the same as the others or do I need to do something different for it? I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me. Thanks, Brian
