Hi Everyone!
I hope somebody out there can help me with my weak tufa. I made a grot with 2 floating hands about a week or so ago using 1 1/2 parts medium-fine peat, 1 part portland, and 1 1/2 perlite. It was a mix like oatmeal cookie dough. He shaped great and I left him to cure. After 2 days I put him in water bath for 2 more days I put him in a water bath for 2 days. He is nice and tuff, ha ha, but his hands are breaking up. Also, he is not as smooth as I have seen others turn out. Anyone have any ideas as to why? I would appreciate any help.
