Mother lode of elephant ears

I have had bad luck with growing the this year but have been eyeing the neighbors. Due to Ike, the strong winds blew down a huge patch of them. I happened to be driving by when the lady was cutting them off. I think I left black marks stopping to introduce myself. I could only salvage 14 of them but they are now drying.

I have to ask about "drying the leaves". Winter is coming up here and I have been cutting and concreting leaves as they turn yellow.

So you dry the leaves?
do you then use them for making concrete leaves?
