Studies of "Roman Cement" have also shown indications that animal blood was among the "admixtures" they employed. If you want to see something really tantalizing, check out one scientist's theory on how the pyramids were built. He has successfully produced a form of cast, "re-aglommerated" limestone concrete that he is staking his reputation on as the solution to the old "how'd they build'em" question. Take a look at the link below. Makes sense to me...but then, I have had more than my share of concussions. Oh...and yes...I have asked for the formulation...and they aren't handing out too many details "at this time", but the basics are there and I'm ready to start experimenting. The stuff just looks so darn COOL!

Saw a program about the Great Wall of China, the mortar is outlasting the bricks. They analysed the mortar, and found it was made from lime and rice!

My understanding is that the word "glue" was derived from "gluetins"...the substance that makes up the outer shell of rice and many other vegetable substances and has been used for sitcking stuff together for millenia. A friend here in town who owns an excellent sushi restaurant has a wall covered in customer's business cards. All of which are held in place by a grain of rice and have been there for many years...so if it's "stickness" you're after...use Japanese sushie rice, not Uncle Ben's.

sushi rice is not necessarily special before its cooked into sushi rice. its the process of cooking sushi rice that creates the stickyness over plain steamed rice. the recipe calls for sugar, and sushi rice is cooked with about 1/2 as much water as steamed or boiled white rice, so the starches are not completely saturated from the process! so, dont golooking for any special sushi rice in the store, if your buying sushi rice its plain ol short grain rice, that your getting gouged for!!
