ficus b. leaf burn

I have a Ficus benjamina that I just sat outdoors for the summer since it was sunny and 80ish this past weekend.

Usually, I place it in rather deep shade for a couple weeks first, but my sister in her infinite wisdom moved it into full sun for the last few days - most of the new leaves that grew during the winter when the plant was indoors have burned off - basically they dried out and turned a pale whitish color. The stems and buds look OK, as do the "leatherier" leaves that grew during the plant's outdoor stint last summer. Should I trim down the bare stems, or will the stems, still intact, just keep growing from where they left off?
