I have some strawberry plants that are developing some problems. I love looking at the plants and I started noticing an odd darkening around the edges of the leaves. At first it was hard to notice. It was a dark green that slowing turned purplish and now it's a dark purple/black. On some of the leaves the little point bits have turned brown and dead. The black areas on the leaves look completely normal except for the dark colors and they are only around the edges of the leaves. They've had this for at least the last month and only 2 out of my 14 plants have started to get crispy edges. There also seems to be some black smudges on some of the flower stems. Otherwise the plants look very healthy. The leaves are full and shiny and they've grown twice as much as my friend's who bought hers at the same time and place, her plants also have the discoloration around the edges. I thought maybe it was Strawberry Angular Leaf Spot, but there are no signs of the water lesions on the leaves that I've read are supposed to be present. On some of the leaves there are large what looks like water spots, except instead of drop sized, the water spot edges take up nearly 1/2 of the leaf. I assume the white is powdery mildew, as some of my jasmine was suffering from it, but I figured I'd include that in case someone might think it was associated with the other symptoms.

Pics: This first one is the smudges on the flower stems. The smudge on the base of the blossom actually is more of a dent or something.

The second one shows one of the plants with leaves that are starting to crisp. The leaf on the left is one with the crisp. If you look close you can barely make out the darker coloring on the larger leaf on the right. Otherwise the leaves were too shiny to make out any discoloration with my crummy cell phone camera.
