What is currently growing from the stump is whatever pear the rootstock is. If by "cloning" you mean removing the new growth and replanting it to generate a new tree down the road, then yes, it is possible.

But I seem to recall this pear tree is a ornamental, aka callery pear, so generating any new ones by any method is not advised.

The confusion caused by multiple posts is evidenced by both GG and I thinking this was an ornamental pear. Didn't you once say it never fruited?

We could explain what a root stock is but it would be quicker if you just Google the term rather than responders having to type out information which is easily available to you.
