No, not yet. I hope they have them this year, since I didn't see any last year.

Em, whenever I want 'x' plant, I get on the phone..Either using the net or phone book for numbers.
Call Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, and your local nursery.
Ask for their Garden Department. Most people who work in garden centers know what an Easter Cactus is, as long as you don't use a botanical name. lol.
Don't be shy..call daily. Or ask which days shipments come in, so you can phone those days.
It's much easier than driving from store to store, save on gas.
The last two years Walmart had Easter Cactus 'after' Easter. They were displayed on a long table.
But, come to think of it, a couple weeks ago, my sister and I stopped in Walmart to buy soil. I got to talking to a cashier, and she said they wouldn't be getting plants in this summer..they're remodeling. I don't know if this covers all Walmarts though.
But I'd get on the phone and ask..Good luck, Toni

Emerald, I have been looking for them also for the last 6 weeks or so...I'm guessing since we only have a week to go till Easter, they will not be getting them this year. I have also checked all the big box stores and some of the nurseries around here. I will call a few more on Monday, just in case they get them in late. Will let you know if I find one!

I've seen a few at my local Meijer, a chain of supermarket/general merchandise stores located in a handful of Midwestern states.

Hi all I called arround again today and I guess no one is going to be selling easter cactus this year arround here... darn. anyone else having any luck finding any .....question....are these plants harder to grow and get to bloom????? and that maybe why there are none arround???? linda

I too have not seen them anywhere. Wal-Mart, Target and the hardware stores usually carry, but all I see are potted Tulips and Hyacinth this year.

Linda, don't give up! I can't believe I finally found one today!! It was from a local "Publix" grocery store of all places!! I've looked at Wmart, h.depot, lowe's and all the nurseries around a 20 mile radius, no one had them...so you can just imagine how excited I was when I finally found one... at 50%off even!!

Here is my new Easter Cactus next to my model,lol...I will repot after blooming, the soil is very wet, peaty mix.

Oh my Gosh, Pugluvr.... how saweeet is that! It looks like it was taken at my house, I just bought an EC myself.... and I have 2 adorable pugs. Rossie and Sister. And they too think they should be in every picture I take. And well they should be.. nice plant too.

I'll have to check and see if I can send you a file of my screensaver, its a pug licking the screen so you see the tongue, as well as all the slobber. My Rossie saw it one time and jumped on my chair to try to get to the back of my moniter, she could see it but she couldn't smell it, it was the funniet thing!!

Pug, it's beautiful..nice size..what color would you say the flowers are? Don't forget to toss paper and foil, if foil is wrapped around the pot..One day (for looks) will be okay, but no more.

We haven't discussed Easter Lilys..I didn't see any this year. Has anyone else? Easter Lily's are usually stocked everywhere, in all stores, like Poins around Christmas, yet. What's with that? Toni

    Thanks MIM and Toni!!

MIM, aren't pugs GREAT!! BTW...I have that pug licking the screensaver, a very good friend sent it to me a few months back, I LOVE IT!! It is the funniest and cutest thing I've ever seen. I would have loved to have seen your pug jump up on your monitor, LOL...too funny.

Toni, thanks for the heads up, already took the foil off as soon as I took the pictures, I know they are a big no no. We had the Easter Lillies here everywhere, its the EC that I couldn't find. I didn't get them, I didn't have the room for them...there are other plants that I want, lol...

Okay, just a few questions for you seasoned EC growers, since this is my very first try at growing one, I read that they need the same care as CC? I know there are exceptions...but does the EC usually only bloom once, maybe twice a year like the CC does? Do you also need the shorter(darkening), cooler nights to get them to bloom? I will be keeping this one on my entry way outside but covered out of direct sun. Should receive bright light. I will be doing some research on the net for their care, but thought I would get some great advise from the great members here. Thanks for any help!

Lowes had plenty of easter lilies. I didn't get any at the regular price, but when they marked them down to 50 cents a piece on clearance, I couldn't resist. I'll put them in the ground, though.
