My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
The likelihood of you succeeding in this endeavor is virtually nil. There's been some work done in attempting to propagate own-root nut trees from cuttings, but success rates, for the most part, have been very, very low - and that was after etiolating the candidate cuttings, using rooting hormones, bottom heat, mist bench, etc. Superior nut trees are typically propagated by grafting onto seedling rootstock.
lucky_p, thank you very much. cutting was from grafted walnut and i wonder would this cutting be the same in growth habits like the tree i got it from or not. probably i will not succeed but say if miracle happens.
i can't afford to buy grafted walnut in price of $186.00 ,
also, i don't know how to get fresh walnuts to grow from seeds. thank you very much
n_g, If you were able to root your cutting, or if you grafted it onto a seedling rootstock, it would have similar growth habit to the one you got it from, because it is a genetic clone of that tree. Grafting/budding is a form of cloning that's been practiced for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
I don't know where you're located, but $186.00 is a phenomenal rip-off for a grafted walnut. You should be able to purchase them all day long for well under $50. Check out the NNGA Marketplace page at the Northern Nut Growers Association website - www.northernutgrowers.org, and the offerings from my friends at Nolin River Nut Tree Nursery
