Just bought a Monstera Deliciosa/Splitleaf Philodendron, call me crazy, but I don't like the un-split leaves. I noticed that one of the large new(uncurling) leaves already has "splits". Out of eleven large leaves only 3 have "splits".
The Delicious Monster is in a 6" pot,and is 10"tall ($5.99 Aldershot).
Aerial(sp?) roots are visible above the soil and no roots are coming out of the bottom. I have cut off ten small leaves w/no splits, and have my eye on large ones w/o splits. Bright sunlight 4rhs daily, should it be misted?
Don't want to interfere w/photosynthesis, but should this unconventional "weeding" get me results?
I know it's a vigorous grower, so I'm willing to experiment. Has anyone done this with great "Split" results?
