It is hardwood mahogany. I would suggest going with the new ceramic tile that is shaped and textured to look like hardwood. It would hold up so much better in that application. You'd be surprised how real it looks.

I have the same colour flooring in my new house. It is everywhere, including the stairs and railings. It's a little too much red for me. What colour can I use on the walls to brighten it up and mute the red. Please don't say put red on the walls! Enough red

I would say go towards a gold colored wall...not gold, but something with gold undertones. I used a color in the main part of 2of my homes called Country Cork.
