Bell pepper colors/leaf problem? or natural

i have some red bell pepper plants growing in my garden they seem to be doing great but a couple days ago i noticed they have a dark redish color at their armpits/joints with some white stuff poking out. not sure if this is natural or pests as it's too small for me to notice but also i have also noticed their leaves well the new leaves comming out tend to seem wrinkly. their green and seem alright but they are wrinkly idk why this is happening.

is this natural or is their something wrong with them?

I had a problem with wrinkled leaves on bells earlier in the season. It was caused by aphids. I treated with a soap solution and the plants recovered and produced great.

i don't really see any aphids on the plant itself i will have to check today when watering but i know their are a ton of white flies due to my grandpa throwing in clipping/ basically making a compost pile right by my plants so that might be the case but like i said i don't really see them on the plant itself.

i will try to do the same if this is the problem
