If I were you, I would paint the walls the colour you see when you look at the backsplash and squint a bit! That would give you a uniform colour surrounding your upper cabinets. Paint in a kitchen should be totally secondary to the cabinets and counter and backsplash and floor and appliances etc. etc. If you paint it a definite contrasting colour, you are going to have your eye going to the paint first! Not a good idea!

Looking at my paint deck here, I would suggest Pittsburgh Paints 417-4 CAMEL, but that might be a way off. Take one of your tiles to the paint store and choose something that works with it.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have some swatches over the desk that you cant see that match the backsplash pretty well. I was just afraid of making it too Blah...lol. I have an old post office sorter cubby that will go over the desk and have many old stoneware bowls in various colors as well as some other antiques to place on top of the cabinets for added color. It has been suggested to paint the table/chairs either cream or black for some contrast. Any suggestions on a light fixture? I'll post a pic of the space over the desk.Thanks Again!

The paint swatches over your desk still look too light (in the photo). They should blend better with the tile. Not easy to find, but keep working at it! Not to worry--your kitchen will not be blah! No, personally I would not paint the table and chairs. You might recover the seats with new fabric and do a matching or co-ordinating roman shade on the window, mounted as high on the wall as you can go. I'm thinking a large-scale black and white checked linen would give you some pizzazz but still reflect a colonial crispness that would complement your antiques.

As for a light fixture, keep going with the historical look, such as a lantern-type piece.
