Glass Birdbath

Check out this website. Aren't these beautiful? An idea similar to the totems.

Here is a link that might be useful: Glass Birdbaths

Aren't they just sort of totems???

Not to put them down , they are beautiful...but their wording is like they hand crafted it all..but it looks like ceiling light fixtures to me..

I'd love to have a bubbling fountain in one of those.
And have the post all made of crystal too.

I hate my concrete birdbath...It's way too big for the spot it is in...But it is way too heavy for Denny and I to move.

The only thing new or different from this site's past treasures, is the 'gazing ball'. It is a kina cute thing to do.

    Carousel,

those birdbaths ARE beautiful, very whimsical.

I agree with previous posts. They are pretty. but they are basically totems. And the price isn't listed so I bet they are a pretty penny too. the gazing ball is different that was nice.

They are pretty, and I agree, just another take on the totems. Good way to use old glass light fixtures too. Fun to see what items they put together too. Luvs

I had to laugh, I've been making stuff like that for years! I even made something similar to the gazing ball a couple of years ago and posted pix. I can't remember how to post pics here, otherwise I'd do it again!

    Me, too, Pesky!
I remember how I used to post photos, but the browse box no longer shows up for me on the message preview....

The browse box still comes up for me, but only if I am making a new post, not replying to an old one.

Here I had thought of making a totem, but never thought of making a birdbath totem. I think I'll make a shallow version to put in my herb garden for the butterflies. I check this forum every day, but I never post much. I've been real busy with a major makeover to the outside of our house (roof, siding, doors, windows, painting), so I haven't had time for gardening and crafts this year. I'm taking some vacation from work in a couple of weeks, and I will definitely make time to create one of these birdbaths.

They're very pretty. I never thought about putting a salt shaker in the middle of one,it does make it extra sparkly. Looks like vases, ash trays, light fixtures and salt shakers, all very beautiful. I never find really nice ones like that pink one! I did see someone on here make a 'gazing ball" like that one, seems like it was from a blue or green glass lamp base? That's another thing I never find, glass lamp bases like that! Wonder how much they charge?

They are very pretty.......I was told that birds will only drink out of birdbaths that are made of glass or ceramic, etc......and not get in them to bathe because the bottoms are slick? Anyone know for sure? They are very pretty to look at!

Has anyone emailed to check the prices, I don't have a program set up to send emails directly from a site. I would love to know.

    Pattico,

Why not paint your cement birdbath and put a totem in the center? Sort of like a tiered birdbath! Then they'll have a couple of spots to land and bath :)

I think they are made with found articles just like totems. But they are gorgeous!! Very elagant in my opinion. I'm sure they are very pricey, just like the fairies that were also posted. So let's look, enjoy, and then steal the idea!!

I would guess they might be slippery for birds but you could put a rock just under the water for the birds to perch on.

Looking at these again, I can imagine turning them into fountains as well. With the water coming up through the salt shaker and running over the sides of the bowl. I really need to see what glass pieces I have laying around.

Someone just kick me .. I throu out so many of those ,, Iam just sick now,, How beautifull those are .. well you win some and loose some ,, I'll have to keep an eye out ..Thanks for sharing

Well, I am taking a couple weeks off work to finish projects around the house. I hope to take the time to make one of these. I may add some decorative rocks to the bottom so it won't be slick for the birds. I haven't put out any of my garden decor this year because of all the work on the roof, siding, doors, windows, painting, etc. from the hail storm. Hopefully, though it will all look great next summer.
