I would cut it where you see the red lines in the pic below.

I would also root the cuttings and add them in later when repotting for an even fuller looking pep. :)

If you let your cuttings callous (dry) overnight, the risk of having them rot before taking root would be much reduced.

I agree with trimming low. New growth will normally show up right around the cut, so you want to go low enough so the new growth won't be too tall from the beginning. It's a hard time for plants to recover from surgery though. If you think it can wait until late spring, the recovery should be much more quick and smooth.

An option for now might be removing a leaf or two from the heavy side.

...or securing everything to a support of some kind like a skewer or a dowel while waiting for things to warm up.

Purp is right about this being the wrong time of year to be doing this. Even though I know better,I tend to get bored at wintertime and risk a few cuttings anyway(I'm a tad compulsive when it comes to these things)...not that I should be enabling others to mess up as badly as I occasionally do. LOL

I think he is a very elegant plant. I've never seen a peperomia look so nice. Especially in the corner like that, leaning against the wall.

Personally, after making the cuts AitG indicated, I would then cut the cuttings in half.

At the base of the petioles (leaf stem) you will typically see some bumps. These are root nodes from which new roots may grow. Remove the lowest pair of leaves from each cutting and allow to callous over even as the stem is doing so. (Callousing typically only takes a few days.) Bury the stem so that the defoliated area where the nodes are located is covered.

I will also mention that after allowing the cuttings to callous over and planting, keep the media barely moist as opposed to wet and place them in a warm, brightly lit area (but NO direct sun) until they have rooted. New growth will indicate that rooting has taken place. At that time you can increase the water a bit.
