Gas Blower question

I was looking at low-end ($100-$200) home use blowers and noticed the handheld units usually have a vacuum option whereas the backpack units do not list the vacuum option.

Is this the case? Is there a backpack unit that can also vacuum?

My main use will be to occasionally blow pine needles, often wet pine needles, off of the road. I might get ambitious and use it for other things also. The backpack units look like they would be much easier to handle than the handheld units but I like the option of vacuuming (although I do not presently have a use for it). I saw Ryobi had a reconditioned backpack unit for $99 and a reconditioned handheld for $79. The most bang for the buck appears to be a Craftsman (200mph, 400+CFM) but the reviews are sketchy.

Will any of these serve my purpose?

Anything else I should consider? ThereÂs no way IÂm going to spend $400 so nice commercial units are out.

Thanks for any thoughts.
