some junk stuff I got

I haven't made it to Michaels yet to look for the hats, but here's my Blues Brothers after painting them.

I will put them in my "Blue Garden" soon.

I've been wanting to find a wrought iron bakers rack to use for a potting bench. Well, not actually to pot stuff since I grow silk flowers. LOL. Mostly wanted one to decorate. I told a friend of mine here to watch for one when she was yard saling. She found this one thrown out in alley behind her house. Unfortunately it's aluminum, and the glass shelf is gone from the middle. My plan is to put a piece of plywood there instead of glass, and spray the entire thing black so it will look like wrought iron. Hope it works.

These are some finds I just bought. The bird pair came from Michaels two weeks ago, couldn't resist them.

The ceramic crosses came from Dollar Tree. The white one has all the scrolls on it too, just didn't show up in photo. Might make good Totem toppers. I finally found two amber pieces at Goodwill. Along with the cobalt hanging thingy, the skinny tulip vase, and the neat pitcher.

Your "Blues" brothers are very cool! Love that color of blue! And what a haul from shopping! LOVE the blue cross, the birds, etc....great day for you!!

oh. im just speechless over those blue flamingoes.

Love the "Blues Bro Flamingos" Have you found the sunglasses yet?

The Bakers rack is great. I think painting it to look wrought iron should work well. I would definitely do several good coats and seal it well. If it really is aluminum you may have to prime it for the paint to really stick good!

Nice scores for toppers and totem pieces. I have a passion for the amber glass bottle. I can't wait to see your totems. Have FUN.

LOL!! Love the 'Blues Bros' idea!! Can't wait to see them with their hats. And that bakers rack is a great find; you have wonderful friends. Love all your GW finds. What will you do with the pitcher? Use it for a succulent planter?

Elwood and Jake turned out "SMASHING"! I hope one of the doll making suppliers will have the right sized hats. Hobby Lobby also has some doll supplies. I would think that one could also get some black felt and hand sew a couple of hats. Then poly them stiff. The brothers also need some 'dark sunglasses' to transform them into a "SOUL MAN". Those little wire Santa Clause doll glasses could be painted black.

I would use crete board on your garden racks!!!! Crete board can be mosaiced and that may be the project that you have been waiting to do. Lowes or HD may cut it for you if you take them the dimentions. Set it up at an indoor table (in the AC) and "GO FOR IT"!!!! You can do it!!!!

I loved all of your other TS finds but the birds are stunning.

Thanks Everyone. I just got back from Michaels, and they had the black hats. Also some sunglasses, tho might be too big. Last night I painted "Sally Ann" purple. I put her by the Brothers, and boy....she looks quite haughty! She looked so sweet before. I don't think she approves of them at all. Its 110 out, so am not messing with hats and glasses till tonight when its bearable. I have to find a way to attach them, think I might use fishing line since it wouldn't show. I don't want to glue stuff cause our heat may not let the things I bought last more than the summer.

SusieRose....ME, SEW? Not to mention mosaic the big shelf for the bakers rack! LOL, you forgot who you're talking to. Queen of Procrastination, who can barely thread a needle. Actually I use needles only for splinter removal.

Cait, I don't know yet what I'm doing with the pitcher. I just like the colors. I haven't had any luck growing succulents. I kill them as easily as I kill flowers.

It really sucks that I can't see pictures from here at work! I wanna see the Blues Brothers! he-he I guess I have to go to the library in my spare time (what's that?) to see them. I was lucky, I was looking for a baker's rack for a couple of years and finally found one at Goodwill for $25. It is like new. I want to either get a piece of concrete board cut for the one shelf like susiewantsroses suggested or I'll seal up the wooden shelf that came with it and mosaic over that. But I like free even better!

LOVE your bakers rack! What a score!!!! I saw one on cl exactly like it,said it was from a bakery, no shelf and they wanted money for it.....:0)

Great finds! Wonderful totem toppers and I love the blue hangy thing, whatever is it?

Love the Blues Bros. They'll be sooo cute all "dressed up".

You might google how to paint aluminum as I seem to remember you need a special primer.

You have my sympathy with the temps - 110!!! I'd be totally wilted. It's 65 here and pouring rain for about the 3rd day. Supposed to be sunny for the weekend. I sure hope. Age and FM sure cause decreased tolerance to heat/cold/pretty much everything, don't they! LOL

Love those birds - both the "Blues Brothers" and your ceramic ones! All great finds. I can't wait to see the flamingoes in your blue garden.

Those flamingos came out great! Very good shade of blue. Looking forward to seeing that blue garden! Love the amber, the blue hanging thing, the birds, and really all of it. ~tenderlee
