First, do not attempt to put down 90lbs per 1000 sq ft. You should put out no more than 40lbs per 1000 sq ft at any one time.

Normal pelletized lime is fine for most applications. A broadcast spreader will make the job faster, but any spreader will do. For most spreaders though, you are going to have to make multiple passes to put all of the product out even at the highest setting.

Personally, I would buy about 400 lbs of lime. Spread it out the best you can and then water it in. It doesn't have to be 100% even - just do your best. Then in early fall, get another soil test to see how much of an effect it had. If you are anywhere in the 6's, you should have no problem growing grass.
