Crabgrass?! Really?!

So in the beginning of the spring I put down a pre-emergent and then about 3 weeks ago when I saw more weeds popping up and I used some Scott's Weed and Feed.

Now my neighbor's lawn is a mess and is filled with crabgrass and it looks like my front lawn along our road, and especially right near my neighbor's lawn is now being taken over by crabgrass.

Anyone have any good suggestions, that won't kill my lawn like RoundUp, to take care of this? Anyone have success with the Bayer Advanced Lawn Weed and Crabgrass concentrate?

    It's spreading like wildfire!

    Before commenting on which herbicide...

    Where do you live?
What kind of grass do you have?
What is your watering schedule (frequency and duration)?

That weed looks too long to be crabgrass.

We just moved in this past November so I'm not completely sure what kind of grass it is. Its a mix of bluegrass, rye and some other stuff from what I've been told.
Haven't had to water since we've had a pretty wet spring/summer so far.
These weeds just started popping up in the past week and have grown really fast in the last few days.

Not surprising for the timing and growth rate of crabgrass. And no, it's not spreading - those seeds have been there since last August -- they're just in high-growth mode now and announcing themselves.

Any product containing a reasonable amount of Quinclorac will put a good hurting on the crabgrass. And no, NB87, CGM will not help mature crabgrass - that is a pre-emergent and pretty weak at that.

What I want to know is what you put on the lawn that made the whole lawn stand up on its edge like the pictures show.

Looks like a liberal application of M.C. Escher to me.

You have a pretty serious scalped spot in your lawn. You might take a look at the many topics for lawn leveling in this forum.

Can anyone recommend a good Quinclorac product?
I see it's only 1.6% in the Bayer Advanced concentrate, but I'm not sure that is enough since i have used that before and it didn't kill any of them.

As for the scalped spot in the pic, that is actually a rock in the lawn. But the whole lawn is a mess and uneven. It does need to be leveled out.
Talking to my other neighbor, the previous owner did nothing for the landscaping for over a year after she got divorced.
So I'm stuck trying to fix all the weeds, dead spots from grubs, moss and unevenness in the mess of the lawn.
The spot in the pic is the best section, besides the crabgrass.

The "best" is probably Drive XLR8, but you'll have to buy more than you probably care to. Additionally, you need to get "MSO" to add to it - don't get to thinking that it is optional...
