Mulching slope area

Does anyone know if placing mulch on a bare slope area enough to keep seeds from sliding. Planning to overseed yard in 2 weeks and areas of most concern is the slope areas. I planned on dropping seed, putting seeding soil over it and putting some mulch over it. Has anyone ever done this?
