What is that?

I've seen these little black things on my orchids and I'm wondering what they are. I've seen them on the under side of leaves and today I noticed two on two separate flowers. Does anyone know what they are? Are they harmful? Should I remove them? Thanks

Difficult to say. It sure looks like a big specimen of brown scale but they're rarely found on flowers.

Bush snails???

Whatever they are, I'd remove them ASAP.

Definitely Brown scale.
I agree c the above comment -REMOVE ASAP!!
This bug will get into your whole collection if you don't get it early....
I use a Q-Tip dipped in water and remove each one individually. Then I spray c Safer Soap to kill the crawlers...the little guys running around looking for a place to form scale.
Another tell-tale sign of scale is sticky leaves.
