It looks like an ornamental cherry.

Could be Prunus x yedoensis.

Here is a link that might be useful: images

It does look a lot like the pictures of Prunus x yedoensis. I'll have to take a closer look at the bark and the leaves/petals the next time I am near it.

I wonder how long it takes for the Prunus x to get that big?

Would be nice to see a closer shot while the bloom was still full. It will be necessary to see one of them closer in order to tell what they are.

Pears reek in flower, if you have not noticed these stinking up the place they may be something else.

Coloring of flowers and branching structure does suggest a pear is likely.

I'll try to get a closer shot today.

Its strange though. I guess I don't have the DNA make up to smell the flowering pear. LOL I hear people talking all the time about the musty smell in town during the spring. There are a TON of bradford pears lining the streets. I always tell them that I have heard that the pears stink and that is probably what it is. And they just don't beleive me. Since I can not smell it I can't prove them wrong.

Speaking of Bradford Pears though. The yard next to my church had about 4 of them in their yard for a couple years. We had the hardest winter, snow wise, we have had in a long time - probably longer than the trees were old. They were all completly destroyed this winter just from the snow pile up. It was aweful.

OK. More pictures. I know the colors look pink or off white but in real life its a pretty bright white. While we were in the diner having lunch a big gust of wind came by and it looked like it was snowing outside for all the petals flying through the air. I couldn't believe the tree still had blooms on it! Pics are taken with my cell.

I can't get any closer to the blooms. I'm afraid I'm not tall enough. LOL

Probably Prunus avium, looks quite like it. Shot of flowers etc. still not close enough to make out relevant details, like reflexing sepals.
