Pleiones in full bloom

My spring Pleiones (there are a couple that bloom in the fall) are in full bloom. Once you get the hang of them they are super easy and yet I see so few people growing them. All you need to remember is two dates, Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day. In Nov you take them out of their pots, put them in a zip lock bag and place them in the veggie drawer of your fridge. Valentine Day you repot them. What could be simpler? They multiply and give delightful flowers.

I encourage members of my society to grow them, they Oh and Ah when they see them in bloom but no one takes the plunge.and buys them. It's too late this year to buy unbloomed ones but certainly not too late to get some for next spring. I like Fraser's Thimble Farm, even though they are in Canada, bringing them into the US is painless and effortless. Whatever you get at this time probably has bloomed, you grow them and vernalize (cold winter) them for the show next spring.
