Do you notice that there are any viable eyes? The "sphag and bag" is always a "go-to" process. You can try planting the back bulbs in a small clay pot with some packing peanuts at the bottom and some new zealand sphagnum. Or in plastic pot with medium granite rock. If you have high humidity, sometimes just loosely planting the plant in a small pot with some charcoal and hanging the pot in a shade house (again, if it's warm and humid enough outside).

Unfortunately, I don't have the chance to leave it outside, or in a shade house, as it's not warm enough here for that. I'm windowsill-growing what I have. I have the guy hung in the shower out of the way, alongside a section of sophronitis cernua that I'm also trying to coax some roots out of, so that it gets good humidity, and warmth, but isn't in bright light. I wrapped a bit of sphagnum around the base and tied it loosely. If I don't see root eyes beginning after some time, I'll try the pot method. Two of the roots that I thought were dead are actually viable, though they are very short. I suppose this is a good sign, and maybe they will start growing again. The cane/bulbs are not very desiccated, so hopefully it has a push left in it.

Rooting hormone. I don't like sphag/bag. Just give it good light and warmth. Its Spring. It should start making roots.

Here's hoping! Thanks, Jane and toyo! For some reason, the sphag and bag was not working. I'm hoping that the momentum of the season will carry them into rootâ¦.I gave them some hormone and am keeping them in high humidity.
