Hello,
I repotted my butterfly orchid about a month ago because it seemed to be suffering in its pot. I had bought it last year and neglected it, and its roots had gotten bad in its original plastic pot it came in. They were mostly dead. :(

I trimmed the dead ones and put it in a wooden basket with a specialty orchid bark mix and hung it where it would get some morning sun and muted light the rest of the day. It has an old spike (about two feet tall) that keeps trying to flower but the flower dies before it opens and it starts a new one. It is also growing a new spike! It might have been growing this before I repotted but I think I would have noticed it, so I think it's new. It has not grown new roots though, and it's leaves are a bit dry and floppy. I mist it regularly and have given it root stimulator, but no roots. I'm wondering if I should do anything - should it be growing flowers and spikes when it hasn't grown roots? should I cut the spike off (I don't want to!)?

Honestly I am surprised it is growing anything given how much I read about them dying after repotting. Other than the leaves being dry and looking less vibrant, on the surface it looks happy.
