HI! I see this post was really old but hopefully you will reach out! My propagation has the same exact thing. Was it deadly? did you succeed in propagating the plant?

You might find some answers on the net by searching for Bauhinia Blakeana. There is also some good information in the link I posted 6 years ago a couple of posts up.
