Sorry about that 2 missing days

Just got home from the hospital.. Had a nice helicopter ride to the regional big hospital. Tell you why one day soon.

It is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about them.

I am glad to hear from you, we were concerned because it's not like you to just disappear.
Please tell us what was wrong, if you are so inclined, if not, I just hope all is better.

Oh no! Glad to hear that you're ok.

Well, your fingers and head are working...so that's good. Hope Leone is ok too. I love Berle's quote. Looks like some things never change.

    George, you were missed, buddy.
    Hope all is well again.

Ealier, I thought, eh, George is just busy doing something and musta forgot to do his quotes. I am sad to see something kept you from us.

You didn't say if it was you or someone else who needed the care. Is Leone ok?

Wonder if Pierre Beaumarchais hangs out in the Hot Topics Forum - this quote fits that to a T LOL

Woke up Mon. morning about 3 AM with a severe pain in my left shoulder that was radiating down my arm. Since I have had an artificial shoulder joint for 8 years now I was convinced that that was the problem. About 6 AM Leone said if you won't let me take you to the emergency room I'm going to call an ambulance. She thought it was heart. So, when we got to the emergency room they did a quick ekg and everything was O.K., they waited 10 minuteas and did another, still O.K. but, the emergency room doctor said he was calling the helicopter to take me to the large regional hospital. I was overruled. I think I had to be the healthiest heart patient in the entire heart care unit. After 2 days they agreed with me, shoulder problem. Finally diagnosed as a severe rotator cuff tear and I was sleeping soundly when it happened.. Surgeon says that is not unusual, going back in 2 weeks for repair if it doesn't begin to heal by itself.

The food in the heart care unit is horrible, everything tastes like everything else, if you weren't looking you couldn't tell if you were eating dessert or meat course. Quite sure those scrambled eggs they seem to be so fond of every morning never saw a chicken

So glad you're all right, gandle! How ironic that we're happy you "only" tore your rotator cuff.

Similar thing happened to me once, in the dead of night. Woke up with screaming shoulder pain. Was close enough to walk to the nearest hospital. Strolled into the emergency room. ER doc was convinced I was having a heart attack. Guess it was a slow night and he needed to run some extra tests to fill up time on the graveyard shift. I stared him down on that one and...guess what? It turned out to be related to over-use of left arm & shoulder earlier in the day. My "heart attack" was nicely cured with a couple of therapeutic massage appointments.

Take it easy, gandle, and keep use your other arm as much as you can!

I hoped you had just forgotton but knew that was not like you.Good to know you are doing well.

Those 2 quotes definitely belong together. Maybe we should all e-mail them to our respective politicians.
I am glad that you "justs have a rotator cuff tear". Take good care of yourself and no heavy work!
I sometimes wonder how those things happen at night, what do we do in our sleep? My husband said I did not try to beat him up. I had the same problem about a year ago in my right shoulder and still feel it when I overdo things.

Ouch! Then losing sleep and hospital food. Glad you are back home and on the mend, body wise and food wise. Good quotes, fitting in today's political atmosphere.

Glad Leone is ok and that you're not in need of emergency services. Godspeed on your recovery!

So glad you're "O.K.", even if you have to be a one-handed typist for awhile. :>)

Everything is sure relative, isn't it? A "severe rotator cuff tear" beats a heart attack in any poker game!

Still and all, Leone was right. With those symptoms off to the ER.

I'm so pleased to hear it's a rotator cuff - although they are pretty nasty (been there), much less worrying that a heart attack. And it happened in your sleep? Leone - strap him down!

    gandle,

So glad to hear it wasn't your heart.
So glad you have learned to listen to Leone...better be on the cautious side.

Even though I haven't posted much lately, I always enjoy reading your posts and takes on life.

Glad you are all ok. If we were all as healthy as you two healthcare would not be an issue.
