If the roots look healthy leave it alone. The lack of a new leaf may be because of a lack of light. The plant seems to be a very dark green color. You can try giving it more light, the downside of that may be that the flowers will start to fade.

I've repotted many phals in bloom, 'generally' as long as you are gentle and not changing the media type, it is OK.

I think that one of the biggest challenges for a novice orchid grower is patience. The plant looks fine. Phals often bloom for 6 months. You only think you need to do something to help it grow better. If you think it's doing fine (which it is) you'll feel better about it.

Bob, sorry for the color look. I took the pic this morning in the dark with a flash. The leaves are actually a nice emerald yellow green in the light. I think I agree with jbraun's novice comment and I have an uncontrollable "I need to be doing something" urge. I guess, if it wants to just sit there and be happy, I should go with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude. These things need to be able to throw up little signs that say do this now or don't do that. Haha! Unfortunately, patience has never been one of my strong suites.

A lot of us have patience issues. Growing orchids helps on that. Join your local orchid societies and get AOS culture sheets to help with individual orchid species needs through the growing year.

If you look at any orchid growing Utube video you'll notice how we talk about a new leaf emergence or flower spike. We are all still pretty impatient, no matter how long you've grown orchids.

Keep up the good work but watch out for the addiction side of keeping orchids.
