I pick number two.

1 and 2 are good options, 3 not so much.
Option 1 would give the Soil Food Web the ability to convert much of those leaves into nutrients to feed the plants next spring. Another benefit would be the soil would be ready to plant next spring.
Option 2 may produce some compost by next spring, the soil is usually warmer then a compost pile exposed to the air would be depending on what your normal minimum temperatures are there. However, next spring you would need to haul that material to the planting beds and maybe mix it in and finish preparing the soil.
Option 3 says you will not have any compost next spring.

but they are all better than staying in the bags :)

Thank you all for your replies. I actually have enough leaves to do all three. The majority are going right into the soil.
