Source of Iridescent liquid in pond

Today I noticed a strange iridescent liquid moving through the pond. There seemed to be some kind of chemical reaction occurring but I can't figure out what's causing the reaction. This video shows the reaction (in action).

It's the first time I noticed it after years of maintaining the pond. However, when I removed some old lily pads I noticed the same material being discharged from one of the stems. I just don't understand what's causing this spot on the rock to spew the iridescent flow shown.
