This is a picture of my formal living room in my new house. I went with the eggplant color to tone down the fireplace (I think it is tacky, but it is solid marble so what can you do?) I like the color, but I think it is overwhelming for most people. Thought I would make the fireplace wall an accent wall, and paint the other three walls a lighter color. My sofa is an antique my husband won't let me get rid of covered in cream upholstery with taupe design, so i can't do gray, which would be my preference otherwise. Any thoughts?
